AAS Got Amplified!

We did it!

AAS had a wonderful day yesterday during AmplifyAustin! Our hope was a modest $500 towards our member engagement and outreach education goals. But through your kind social media shares and word of mouth, we were able to amplify that and raise over $1000!

While single-day AmplifyAustin may be over, you can give through the Amplify giving season. Our AmplifyAAS page will remain up a bit longer. logo_sized

Thank you again so much for promoting AAS or giving to AAS in our first AmplifyAustin year!

Even more so, thank you for being a member of our Society, or being an AAS friend who’s enthusiastic about our shared delight in all things in space; thanks if you are a volunteer in our organization, and many thanks for continuing to support our AAS mission.

As always, Clear Skies!

AAS and AmplifyAustin

ICYMI: Austin Astronomical Society is participating in AmplifyAustin – a season of giving and a single-day fundraising event to amplifytransparentsupport hundreds of non-profits around the city of Austin. Amplify Austin is the premier regional fundraising day for nonprofits, and it provides deserving organizations the opportunity to get in front of the public and make their case for contributions from individual donors. Since this is AAS’ first year of participation, we have set a low, but attainable, fundraising target of $500.

Amplify gives AAS the opportunity to have its name, mission and website seen by thousands of residents who may never have heard of our organization. The process of locating, gathering and assembling our documentation for participation in the event gave us practice for future donations, grants and even for the preparation of a future board manual. Lastly, our AAS budget consists almost entirely of funds from memberships, small donations from individuals and funds from auctions, RASC book sales, etc. Fundraising of this type gives us the opportunity to diversify our revenue without having to increase the size of our membership.
