It’s the election season for AAS, and we definitely need YOU as part of the Executive Committee!
The Executive Committee is responsible for setting the vision and plan for the Austin Astronomical Society. From the Bylaws:
- The Executive Committee shall administer, manage, supervise, conduct, and coordinate all assets, business, and affairs of the Society, subject to approval by the General Assembly as specified in these Bylaws.
- The Executive Committee shall in a timely manner provide regular reports of all its actions to the General Assembly.
- The Executive Committee shall consist of the elected and appointed officers of the Society.
- The voting members of the Executive Committee shall consist of the elected officers of the Society present at a regular or special meeting of the Executive Committee.
- Regular and special meetings of the Executive Committee shall be open to all members of the Society

Here’s the current state for the 2016 elections for the Austin Astronomical Society. Only AAS members are eligible to vote in the election. You can submit your ballot by mail before the GA meeting is called to order on April 8th. The ballot is printable and folds neatly to be mailed. More information on absentee balloting is available on the Nomination Ballot AAS 2016.
