Austin Astronomical Society holds regular events throughout the year, and members of the Outreach team participate in community and civic events around the Austin area upon request and dependent upon member availability.

Each year, AAS hosts Austin Under the Stars in the field at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School. So often we’re focused on dark sky viewing that we can forget there’s much to see in urban settings. AUTS celebrates urban stargazing, with family-focused science and astronomy tables, games, and puzzles along with solar and night sky viewing.
AAS is the host for a multi-day AAS-members only star party event. During our Central Texas Star Party, members view, work on observational goals, and enjoy our shared interest in the night sky. Attendees reserve rooms, camping, or RV sites at the resort, and can set up their telescopes for day and night viewing.
