The Austin Astronomical Society’s monthly General Assembly meetings are free and open to the public. The meetings are held on the second Friday of each month beginning at 7:30pm. Meetings are typically held on the UT Campus, unless otherwise noted, in ETC Room 2.136 of the Engineering Teaching Center Building at the Northwest corner of the intersection of Dean Keeton and Speedway.

Our evening begins with society business (i.e. event updates, member news and other points of note) and concludes with a presentation. Presentations are usually by noted experts in the fields of science and astronomy.
Past presenters to the AAS include: Dr. Donald Olson of Texas State University, Richard Garriott – game designer and ISS visitor, and Dr. Anita Cochran – Assistant Director of the McDonald Observatory,.
