From the Bylaws:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The Executive Committee shall administer, manage, supervise, conduct, and coordinate all\u00a0assets, business, and affairs of the Society, subject to approval by the General Assembly as\u00a0specified in these Bylaws.<\/li>\n<li>The Executive Committee shall in a timely manner provide regular reports of all its actions to the General Assembly.<\/li>\n<li>The Executive Committee shall consist of the elected and appointed officers of the Society.<\/li>\n<li>The voting members of the Executive Committee shall consist of the elected officers of the\u00a0Society present at a regular or special meeting of the Executive Committee.<\/li>\n<li>Regular and special meetings of the Executive Committee shall be open to all members of the\u00a0Society<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>There are many roles to play: President, VP, Communications, Treasurer, Member Services, Outreach, Secretary, Equipment and Member-at-Large are all elected positions, and any member in good standing may submit his or her\u00a0name for slate consideration. This year, with the amazing growth of AAS, our Members-at-Large number has increased from 3 to 6 &#8211; so you have even more opportunity to join the EC and help shape the direction of our Society. There&#8217;s tremendous opportunity to extend our AAS mission to more Central Texas families and space enthusiasts, who are keen to engage with all of the amazing work being done in space sciences, discovery, and flight.<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re interested, please let the <a href=\"mailto:nominate@austinastro.org\" target=\"_blank\">Nominating Committee<\/a> know by March 16th. The potential slate, by bylaws, must be published by March 18th.
