One of the great things about AAS is the amazing number of member activities and public outreach events we host or are invited to participate.\u00a0So many in our growing region want to know more about astronomy and space sciences, and AAS is a go-to for many in Central Texas when they want to learn more.<\/p>\n

  1. Members Only Nights<\/strong> – these are scheduled monthly. Check the event calendar for the next one! <\/li>\n
  2. Public Star Parties<\/strong> – these are scheduled monthly and are supported by Outreach for the benefit of CoTE visitors. Feel free to join us in the field or in the observatory and share your casual viewing with guests present. They’re delighted to see what you’re seeing.<\/li>\n
  3. Using Austin Astronomical Society Scopes<\/strong>\u00a0–\u00a0 get certified by our equipment team, and use the scopes when available!<\/li>\n
  4. Holiday Party<\/strong> – each year, AAS hosts a potluck holiday party. Check the calendar for this year’s event!<\/li>\n
  5. Members Programs<\/strong> – this year, we’re hosting a Fast Track series and Jr Astronomers series. Check the site and events calendar for details and sign up for members events that can help improve your astronomical skills!<\/li>\n
  6. Practical Astronomy<\/strong> – takes place before select General Assembly meetings. Check the Events Calendar for details on the next PA!<\/li>\n
  7. Outreach<\/strong> – if you have an affinity for engaging the public and sharing our enthusiasm for all things space-related, there are many opportunities to talk with local schools, community groups, and organizations. Check the Events Calendar for the next opportunity!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n
