President Ron Carman called to order a brief meeting after the holiday guests had acquired beverages and greeted each other. The more than 50 members at the party easily constituted a quorum. The members casually approved the minutes from the November General Assembly as published on the Sidereal Times portion of the club website. Executive Committee members kept their announcements minimal. Joyce Lynch reminded everyone about the January 1 Member’s Only Star and the January 29 Public Star Party Party at Eagle Eye Observatory. As we had no further business and people were starting to form lines for food Ron Carman called for a motion to adjourn, which gained immediate approval.
Members spent the remainder of the night socializing to a backdrop of classical holiday music and delectable homemade fare. The annual White Elephant Gift Exchange took place with little to no stealing going on between players, but much in the realm of astronomy worthy gifts. The evening ended with another delightful cake and assortment of cookies and treats.
